Dexter
Dexter is an account product for agent payments. Its own site describes it as self-custody for payments, credit and obligations between people, companies and agents, with a spending cap an operator sets for the agents that use the account.
Dexter publishes an x402 software kit for building agent payments, and its documentation describes the account as usable from the assistants and coding tools an agent runs in. OpenDexter is the name its site gives to a local installation of the same account.
Its site shows Dexter acting as the facilitator in the payments it displays: the party that verifies a buyer's payment authorization and settles it for the seller. It also lists paid services an agent can buy, with the provider, price and result shown before payment, which is a catalogue in this glossary's terms.
Dexter states that it will fund ongoing tests against the services it lists. A payment made to check that a listing answers is a payment for which any endpoint would have done, which is why probe402 treats such a payer as a grader rather than as demand.
→ probe402 names the graders whose payments do not count toward its own demand reading on the method page, and this is one of them.
